Man Charged with Possession of Child Porn

Georgetown-Yesterday,
Delaware State Police criminal investigators assigned to the Troop 4
Criminal Investigation Unit charged a Salisbury Maryland man with
thirty-two counts of possession of child pornography.
The
investigation began on December 31, 2007 when detectives were
contacted by the suspect’s fiancé. According to the woman, the
suspect later identified as Joseph D. Willey, 39, of
Salisbury, Md., had a computer at her home located in Georgetown.
The woman told
investigators she observed a pornographic image printing out off the
computer in the presence of Willey. She immediately questioned
Willey about the photos. She became very curious about the photos
and went to check the computer while Willey was at work.
She said Willey
had a password protecting all the computer files blocking her out.
She called the Delaware State Police to have the computer analyze
and wanted the computer out of her house.
A search
warrant was obtained for the evaluation of the computer. Delaware
State Police criminal investigators assigned to the High Tech Crimes
Unit executed the search warrant.
During a
forensic evaluation the computer’s hard drive there were hundreds of
photos and videos of child pornography belonging to Willey.
As a result of
this investigation, troopers formally charged Willey with thirty-two
counts of Possession of Child Pornography (F). He was arraigned and
committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of
$150,000.00 secured bond.
