Morning Crash
Closes SR 24 East of Millsboro

today, State Troopers from Troop 4 were dispatched to SR24 (John J.
Williams Hwy) and Gull Point Road to investigate a reported crash
involving several vehicles.
Upon arrival at
the scene, troopers learned at approximately 9:37 a.m. a 1998
Chevrolet Blazer operated by Tasha A. Nock, 25, of Millsboro
was westbound on SR24.
According to
witnesses, the Blazer veered out of control and entered the
eastbound lane striking an eastbound 2003 Town and Country Chrysler
mini-van operated by Franklin L. Tilley, 39, of Millsboro.
The Blazer also struck a 2000 Cadillac Deville traveling eastbound
behind the van.
The operator of
the Deville, 47-year-old Elizabeth A. Kirkey of Millsboro was
transported to Beebe Medical Center and treated for non-life
threatening injuries. Kirkey was wearing a seatbelt.
Knock
was wearing a seatbelt and was flown to Peninsula Regional Medical
Center. Knock was treated for non-life threatening injuries. A
female passenger in her vehicle was also wearing a seatbelt and
transported to Beebe Medical Center and treated for non-life
threatening injuries.
The operator of
the Chrysler mini-van, Franklin L. Tilley, was wearing a seatbelt
and was flown to Christiana Hospital. Franklin L. Tilley was
treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Tilley’s wife,
Andrea Tilley, 38 of Millsboro was passenger was also wearing
a seatbelt and was transported to Beebe Medical Center. She was
treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Knock was
charged with Driving under the Influence. SR24 was closed for
approximately one hour while investigators examined the scene. |
