Car Stop Leads to Multiple Drug Arrests and Seizure of 1.3 Pounds of Marijuana from Local Motel Released-Wednesday, March 19, 2008 Dover-Yesterday, state troopers and probation officers assigned to the Kent County Governors Task Force (GTF) charged three men with possession with the intent to deliver marijuana, conspiracy and numerous related drug charges. On Tuesday, March 18, 2007 at approximately 12:51 a.m. officers stopped a white Dodge Intrepid on Highview Avenue occupied by two probationers. The Dodge was stopped after the driver failed to signal before turning. The driver, Arthur Reddick, 31, of Felton and his passenger, Tyree Lockett, 23, of Dover were contacted and found to be on probation. A search of the vehicle revealed 2.2 ounces of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A consent search was conducted at a motel room at the Shamrock Motel, located on US 13 in Dover where the both men just left. The search did not result in any contraband. While there, investigators received information that identified a room where a third suspect later identified as Noel Johnson, 44, of Dover had been allegedly smoking marijuana with Reddick and Lockett. A strong odor of marijuana was detected in that room and a search was conducted. Johnson was contacted inside the room and taken into custody. During the search, officers located and seized 1.3 pounds of marijuana. As a result of this investigation officers charged Arthur Reddick with the following criminal offenses: Possession with the Intent to Deliver Marijuana (F), Maintaining a Vehicle for Keeping a Controlled Substance (F), Conspiracy 2nd Degree (F), Possession of Marijuana (M), Failing to Signal (traffic violation) and Driving While Suspended (traffic violation). Reddick was arraigned and committed to the Delaware Correctional Center in lieu of $10,050.00 cash bail. Lockett was charged with Possession with the Intent to Deliver Marijuana (F), Maintaining a Vehicle for Keeping a Controlled Substance (F), Conspiracy 2nd Degree (F), and Possession of Marijuana (M). Lockett was arraigned and committed to the Delaware Correctional Center in lieu of $9,750.00 cash bail. Johnson was charged with Possession with the Intent to Deliver Marijuana (F), Maintaining a Dwelling for Keeping a Controlled Substance (F), Conspiracy 2nd Degree (F), and Possession of Marijuana (M). Johnson was arraigned and committed to the Delaware Correctional Center in lieu of $7,250.00 cash bail. ### |
