Harrington-Yesterday, troopers assigned to the Delaware State Police Kent County Drug Unit, Governors Task Force, officers from the Camden Police Department, and Harrington Raceway Security officers successfully concluded joint investigation code named Operation Horse Pill. This multiparty operation was the culmination of a long term investigation of the illegal sale of prescription pills at Harrington Raceway Simulcast. The target of the operation was Cornellius A. Bordley, 54, of Camden, Delaware. Bordley was observed selling prescription pills to employees and customers in the facility. Surveillance was established on Bordley when he arrived at the simulcast facility. Bordley was observed conducting transactions with numerous individuals. The buyers were taken into custody as they left the simulcast facility and the pills they purchased were recovered. Bordley was taken into custody at the end of the operation and found in possession of numerous prescription pills in addition to cash. A search warrant was executed at Bordley’s residence on Center St, Camden, De. Additional pills were located at his residence. A total of 2,697 pills were seized along with $2,462 cash. The following subjects were arrested during the operation: Robert Salmons, 46, Harrington, De, was arrested on two counts of criminal solicitation 2nd Degree (F), and two counts of Possession of a Narcotic Schedule II Controlled Substance (M). Salmons was arraigned and released on $2,000.00 unsecured bond. Jeffrey Sutcliffe, 43, Harrington, De, was arrested for Possession with Intent to Distribute a Narcotic Schedule II Controlled Substance (F), Criminal Solicitation 2nd Degree (F), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (M). Jeffrey Sutcliffe was arraigned and released on $3,000.00 unsecured bond. Michelle Sutcliffe, 31, of Harrington, De, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia (M). Sutcliffe was arraigned and released on unsecured bond (specific bail amount was unavailable). Galeno Warrington, 40, of Felton, De, was arrested on two counts of Criminal Solicitation 2nd Degree (F), and two counts of Possession of a Narcotic Schedule II Controlled Substance (M). Warrington was arraigned and released on $2,000.00 unsecured bond. Tammy Petett, 41, of Laurel, De, was arrested for Criminal Solicitation 2nd Degree (F), and Possession of a Narcotic Schedule II Controlled Substance (M). Petett was arraigned and released on $2,000.00 unsecured bond. Randall Kenton, 43, of Milford, De, was arrested for Delivery of a Narcotic Schedule II Controlled Substance (M). Kenton was arraigned and released on $5,000.00 unsecured bond. Arnold Hockensmith, 49, of Felton, De, was arrested for criminal solicitation 2nd Degree (F) and Possession of a Narcotic Schedule II Controlled Substance (M). Hockensmith was arraigned and released on $3,500.00 unsecured bond. Diana Smith, 54, of Milford, De, was arrested on two counts of Criminal Solicitation 2nd Degree (F), and two counts of Possession of a Narcotic Schedule II Controlled Substance (M). Smith was arraigned and released on $2,000.00 unsecured bond. Sandra Souva, 40, of Harrington, De, was arrested for Criminal Solicitation 2nd Degree (F) and Possession of a Narcotic Schedule II Controlled Substance (M). Souva was arraigned and released on $1,000.00 unsecured bond. Kenneth Mitchell, 50, of Greenwood, De, was arrested on two counts of Possession With Intent to Deliver a Narcotic Schedule II Controlled Substance (M), Maintaining a Vehicle for Keeping a Controlled Substance (F), Criminal Solicitation 2nd Degree (F), Possession of a Narcotic Schedule II Controlled Substance (F), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (M). Mitchell was arraigned and released on $2,500.00 unsecured bond. Dino Episcopo, 48, of Felton, De, was arrested for Possession of a Narcotic Schedule II Controlled Substance (M) and Criminal Solicitation 2nd Degree (F). Episcopo was arraigned and released on $1,500.00 unsecured bond. Terry McClements, 52, of Clayton, De, was arrested for Criminal Solicitation 2nd Degree (F) and Possession of a Narcotic Schedule II Controlled Substance (F). McClements was arraigned and released on $1,000.00 unsecured bond. Cornellius A. Bordley, 54, of Camden, De, was arrested on twenty-two counts of Delivery of a Narcotic Schedule II Controlled Substance (F), two counts of Possession With Intent to Deliver a Narcotic Schedule II Controlled Substance (F), Possession With Intent to Deliver a Narcotic Schedule IV Controlled Substance (F), two counts of Maintaining a Dwelling for Keeping a Controlled Substance, two counts of Criminal Solicitation 2nd Degree (F), and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia (M). Bordley was arraigned and committed to the Delaware Correctional Center in lieu of $32,600 secured bond.
This investigation is ongoing. Investigators anticipated additional arrests. A follow-up investigation into the source of the pills will be conducted by The Office of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. |
