State Police Investigate
Apparent Murder Suicide

Georgetown-The
Delaware State Police Homicide unit is currently investigating
the death of a man and woman believed to be in their
mid-fifties.
Today at
approximately 12:38 p.m., a state trooper responded to the
residence located along the 28000 block of Avalon Road,
Georgetown after
a security alarm at
the house was received.
Upon arrival, the trooper
approached the side door of the home and heard a gunshot come
from the back of the garage. The trooper went behind the garage
and found the body of a white male victim with an apparent self
inflicted gunshot wound to the head. A twenty gauge shotgun was
recovered at the scene.
A check of the garage revealed
the body of a deceased white female in the front passenger seat
of a car. The exact time and cause of her death are still under
investigation. The relationship between the victims has yet to
be confirmed.
The male victim was positively
identified. The female victim has not been positively identified.
Both deceased persons have been turned over to the State Medical
Examiner for further investigation and final determination.
This
investigation is in its’ early stages. No additional information
is available at this time. An updated news release with
