Tenants
Awakened by Gunfire at Dover Apartment Complex
Released-Tuesday, January 15, 2008
Dover-State
Police detectives are currently investigating a home invasion
robbery that occurred early Tuesday morning at the Autumn Run
Apartment complex.
Troopers were
dispatched to the complex located along Webbs Lane at 1:30 a.m.
Upon arrival investigators learned that at approximately 1:15 a.m.
four armed suspects knocked on the door of an apartment in
Building-B. There were two tenants inside that apartment.
When the
tenants answered the door the suspects forced their way in. The
suspects ransacked the apartment and held the tenants at gunpoint.
During the incident the suspects realized they were in the wrong
apartment and went to another apartment in the same building.
Once there, the
suspects kicked the door in. While inside, one of the suspects
struck a tenant in the head with a handgun. That gun discharged
firing a single shot through the floor into an apartment below.
At this time,
the victim ran out of the apartment and another suspect fired a
shotgun at the victim. The shotgun blast struck the ceiling in the
hallway and the victim escaped without being shot. No one was shot
during the incident.
The first
suspect is described as a tall black male with a light skin
complexion. The other suspects were described as black males. All
were armed and were wearing black clothing and hooded sweatshirts.
No other suspect information is available at this time. The
investigation is ongoing.
