Dover-On
Tuesday, January 8, 2008 the Delaware State Police Sex Offender
Apprehension and Registration unit charged two men with failure to
re-register as sex offenders.
Bruce I. Butler,
46, of Dover was charged after being extradited from
Maryland. Detectives issued an arrest warrant for Butler in
November, and he was apprehended last month in Prince George's
County, Maryland after a joint investigation between Delaware State
Police and the U.S. Marshals.
Butler was also
wanted on court capiases from Kent County Superior Court, Kent
County Family Court, Kent County Court of Common Pleas, and Justice
of the Peace Court 7. He is held at the Delaware Correctional
Center in lieu of $2,372.00 cash bail.
Detectives also
arrested 29-year-old Timothy A. Carr of Wilmington. Carr, a
moderate-risk offender, was apprehended by Troopers as he fled a
residence in Elsmere.
A warrant was issued
for Carr last week, when it was determined that he had failed to
notify the sex offender registry as to his whereabouts. Carr is a
registered sex offender due to a 1998 conviction for unlawful sexual
intercourse 3rd Degree. Carr was later released on
$2,000.00 unsecured bond. |
