Charge Smyrna Man with Being a Fugitive from Arizona

Thursday, January 3, 2008 state troopers arrested a 46-year-old
Smyrna man and charged him with being a fugitive from Arizona.
On Thursday
morning, state troopers received information from the Arizona
Department of Corrections pertaining to the whereabouts of a man
wanted by their department.
According to
Arizona authorities, an arrest warrant for Robert J. Miles was
issued on April 04, 2004 after he failed to appear for a scheduled
sentencing and judgment hearing on eight burglary charges.
During their
investigation troopers also confirmed that the Camden County (NJ)
Probation Department had an active arrest warrant for Miles for
violating his probation in New Jersey.
During the
investigation, Arizona officials confirmed that Robert J. Miles, 46,
of Collins Ave., Smyrna, Delaware, had been seen working along the
200 block of Berry Drive, at the Holly Hills Estates. At
approximately 12:00 p.m. Troopers responded to Berry Drive and took
Miles into custody without incident.
Miles was
formally charged with being a Fugitive from Another State and
arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 2. He was committed to
the Delaware Correctional Center in default of $100,000.00 secured
bond pending an extradition hearing.
