UPDATE, MILFORD BARRICADED SUSPECT FOUND DEAD IN RESIDENCE


Update Milford Barricaded Suspect Found Dead in Residence

 

Location:

·         5000 block of Williamsville Road, Milford, DE

 

Suspect:

·         42 year old male from Milford, DE (found deceased in residence)

 

Victim:

·         72 year old male from Milford, DE (transported to MMH and pronounced dead)

 

Resume:

Milford-The Delaware State Police activity in Milford has concluded. At approximately 7:25 p.m. the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team (SORT) made entry into the residence and located the body of the 42 year old male suspect. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

The 72 year old male shooting victim found lying in the yard was transported to Milford Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

 

The evacuated residents have been permitted to return to their houses. Williamsville Road between Holly Hill Road and Griffiths Pond Road will remain closed while the investigation continues. Delaware State Police Detectives remain on scene conducting interviews and gathering evidence. Investigative details will be released as information becomes available. The identities of the victim and suspect will be released pending notification of next of kin.

Date of Occurrence:  

·         Sunday September 1, 2013 at approximately 2:18 p.m.

 

Resume:

Milford, DE-The Delaware State Police continue to operate on Williamsville Road, Milford, DE.  The alleged subject continues to possibly remain barricaded inside the residence and may potentially be armed with an unknown type firearm.

 

The Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team and Conflict Management Team are attempt to make contact with the male subject and are continuing to attempt to persuade him to surrender.

 

Residents in the area remain evacuated. There are no reported injuries at this time.

 

There are no changes in the status of this incident or updated information at this time.

·         Sunday September 1, 2013 at approximately 2:18 p.m.

 

Resume:

Milford, DE- The Delaware State Police are currently operating in the 5000 block of Williamsville Road, Milford, DE for a report of a possible armed barricaded subject in a residence.

 

The incident began at approximately 2:18 p.m. when troopers received a call about a subject shot and found lying in a yard.  The adult male victim was transported to a local hospital and there is no update as to his condition at this time.  A male subject, that reportedly resides in the residence with the victim, is suspected in the shooting and may have barricaded himself inside the house.

 

Troopers continue to assess the situation with no further details available at this time.

 

Troopers have evacuated several residences in the area as a precaution.

 

Williamsville Road between Griffiths Lake Drive and Holly Hill Road have been closed to all traffic.
