DSP News Release: Wanted Sex Offender Arrested

Smyrna, DE- The Delaware State Police Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration Unit has arrested Jamar A. Trower, 26, who was wanted for failure to re-register as a sex offender.

Trower turned himself in on Tuesday, September 27, after seeing his picture on an area television station’s website. He was then arraigned at the Kent County Court of Common Please and released on $1000.00 unsecured bail.

- 5’11” tall, 270 lbs, black hair, brown eyes

Charges:  Failure to Re- Register as a Sex Offender

Smyrna, DE- The Delaware State Police Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration Unit is seeking the public’s help in locating a homeless Smyrna man after he failed to re-register as a sex offender.

Investigators have obtained a warrant on Jamar A. Trower, 26, after he failed to register as a sex offender. Trower is a Moderate Risk Tier II sex offender who is required to register his address as part of a criminal conviction in 2006. He is known to frequent the Smyrna, DE area.

Jamar Trower is a black male, 5’11” tall and 270 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. 

Investigators are asking anyone who may know the location of Jamar A. Trower to contact the Delaware State Police Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration Unit at 302-943-1560 or the 9-1-1 call center. Citizens may also provide a tip by texting keyword “DSP” plus your message to 274637 (CRIMES).  Tipsters may also provide information through lines maintained by Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333.
