DSP News Release: Troopers Investigate 7-11 Robbery, Newark

·         7-11 Convenience Store, 11 Red Mill Road, Newark, DE

Date of Occurrence:

·         Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 10:43 p.m.

Victim:

·         51 year old male employee

Suspect:

·         White male, 20-25 years of age, 6’02” tall, 160 lbs, thin build. Last seen wearing black t-shirt, black shorts, and black sneakers, with white plastic bag over his head to disguise his face. Suspect was armed with an unknown type handgun. Newark-Troopers are investigating the armed robbery of the 7-11 Convenience Store that occurred last night in Newark.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:43 p.m. last evening as a male suspect entered the 7-11 convenience store, approached the 51 year old clerk and displayed a handgun. The suspect then walked around to the rear of the sales counter where the clerk was located, pointed the handgun at the clerk and demanded money.  The clerk complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect fled on foot through the parking lot.  There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
