Resume

Dover, DE- An investigation by the Kent County Governor’s Task Force yesterday has led to the arrest of two men on numerous drug and weapons charges.

The investigation began after members of the Kent County Governor’s Task Force (GTF), which consists of troopers from the Delaware State Police and officers from the Division of Probation and Parole, received information of a possible drug transaction which would be taking place in the parking lot of the Royal Farms Store located on Lebanon Road, in Dover. The information received revealed that two subjects, Robyn Jones and Timothy Lawlor, would be participating in the deal and that they would be traveling in a gray Ford Windstar van. Both Jones and Lawlor are currently on probation for previous criminal offenses.

GTF members responded to the area and at approximately 12:45 a.m. they observed a gray Ford Windstar van enter the parking lot of the Royal Farms. They then observed defendant Timothy Lawlor exit the passenger side of the van and walk toward the store as defendant Robyn Jones exited the driver’s seat and stood next to the van. Lawlor then began to walk back toward the van. GTF members approached and took Jones into custody without incident. However, defendant Lawlor turned around and fled into the Royal Farms with the GTF members pursuing him. They were able to apprehend Lawlor as he attempted to enter the men’s bathroom. Lawlor was found to be in possession of two plastic bags containing a total of 26.4 grams of crack cocaine and $300.00 in suspected drug proceeds. Jones was found to be in possession of 1.6 grams of crack cocaine and 4 Oxycodone tablets. An additional gram of crack cocaine as well as drug paraphernalia was located within the van.

GTF members then responded to the home of Timothy Lawlor located in the unit block of Blackberry Circle, Marydel, DE, where a subsequent search was conducted. During the search officers located a digital scale, baking soda, a 12 gauge shotgun and ammunition, .380 caliber ammunition, and over $9600.00 in suspected drug proceeds in Lawlor’s bedroom.

Both Timothy Lawlor and Robyn Jones were arrested and charged with the above list of crimes. They were arraigned at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas and then committed to the Department of Corrections.
