DSP News Release:  Troopers Investigate New Castle Avenue Robbery 

Location:

·         Crossroads Shopping Center Parking Lot, 2020 New Castle Avenue, New Castle, DE

Date of Occurrence:

·         Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 12:10 p.m.

Victim:

·         25 year old male, New Castle, DE

Suspect:

·         Black male, 25-35 years of age, 5’10-6’0” tall, 160-180 lbs, last seen wearing green thermal long sleeved t-shirt with a white t-shirt underneath.  Suspect armed with unknown type handgun.

·         Suspect vehicle described as a Buick LeSabre, tan or brown in color.

New Castle- Delaware State Troopers are investigating the armed robbery of a man as he was walking through the Crossroads Shopping Center parking lot, Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred Sunday, September 25, 2011 at approximately 12:10 p.m. as the 25 year old male victim was walking through the parking lot on his way to a local store.  The victim was approached by the male suspect that exited a vehicle described as a Buick LeSabre, tan or brown in color.  The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded cash and property.  The suspect then struck the victim in the head with the handgun.  The victim turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect.  The suspect fled in the vehicle, last seen northbound on New Castle Avenue.  The victim was not injured during this incident.
