DSP News Release:  Teenagers Robbed, Claymont

·         16 year old female

·         16 year old male

·         17 year old female

Suspect(s):

·         Black male, unknown age, 5’06”-5’08” tall, 140-160 lbs, average build.  Last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with hood pulled tight to cover face. (No further description).  Armed with unknown type handgun.

·         Black male, 5’06’-5’08” tall, 140-150 lbs, average build, utilized a t-shirt to cover face.  (No further description).

Claymont-The Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of three teenagers that occurred Saturday night along a footpath, in the area of the Carpenter Station Car Wash, Claymont.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:25 p.m. as the three teenage victims were congregating along a footpath under the Naamans Road over-pass, in the area of the Carpenter Station Car Wash.  The teenagers were approached by the two male suspects with one suspect displaying an unknown type handgun. The suspects ordered the teenagers to the ground and demanded their property.  The teenagers complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash and property.  The suspects fled on foot from the area.  There were no injuries as a result of this incident.

“Troopers urge the Public to BE ALERT, BE SAFE. Walk in pairs or groups, especially after dark.  Avoid congregating or walking through dark or unlit areas.  Be aware of your surroundings. Conceal your valuables.”
