DSP News Release: Troopers Probe Parking Lot Robbery

Location: Mountaire Plant, 29000 block of John J. Williams Highway, Millsboro, DE

Date of Occurrence:  Friday, September 16, 2011 at 9:45 p.m.

Victim:  46 year old male employee

Suspect:  

-Black male, 28-30 years of age, 6’01-6’02” tall, and 200 lbs. He was last seen wearing a gray hat, black hooded jacket, and blue jean shorts.

Millsboro, DE- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a robbery which occurred in the parking lot of the Mountaire Plant in Millsboro yesterday evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m. on Friday, September 16, as a 46 year old male employee of the Mountaire Plant had responded to his car in the parking lot of the plant. As the victim was standing next to his car, he observed a tan four door vehicle, possibly a Ford or Mercury product, enter the lot and park next to him. The victim advised that a male suspect then exited the car and approached him, inquiring as to whether he had ordered a pizza. After the victim advised the suspect that he had not, the suspect produced a handgun from his waist and demanded the victim’s money. The victim, however, did not comply with the suspect and ran from the area. The victim advised that as he was running away, he turned to see the suspect going through his car. The suspect then fled from the parking lot in the tan vehicle. The victim advised Troopers that upon returning to his car, he discovered that the suspect had removed his cellular phone and personal products from the car. The victim was not injured.
