TWO INJURED IN HIT-AND-RUN COLLISION


DSP News Release:  Two Injured in Hit-And-Run Collision

 

Location: Southbound US Rt. 13 (South DuPont Highway) at Main Street, Farmington, DE

 

Date of Occurrence:  Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 8:27 p.m.

 

Operators/Vehicles:

 

Operator #1: Unknown

Vehicle #1: White Ford pick-up truck (unknown year and model)

 

Operator #2: William A. Weslosky, 41, Coplay, Pennsylvania

Vehicle #2: 2005 Yamaha motorcycle

 

Passenger on Vehicle #2: Tonia M. Connors, 31, Emmaus, Pennsylvania

 

Resume:

Farmington, DE- The Delaware State Police are currently searching for the driver who fled from the scene of a hit-and-run crash that occurred last night in Farmington.

 

The incident occurred at approximately 8:27 p.m. last night as an unknown driver was operating a white Ford pick-up truck and was traveling southbound in the right hand lane of US Rt. 13 in the area of Main Street in Farmington. The front of the pick-up truck then struck the rear of a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle which was also southbound in the right hand lane of US Rt. 13 and which was being operated by William Weslosky, 41. The force of the collision caused both Weslosky and a female passenger, Tonia M. Connors, to be thrown from the motorcycle into the roadway. The Yamaha motorcycle became embedded in the front of the Ford and was pushed a distance of approximately .7 miles before becoming dislodged on Andrewville Road. The pick-up truck then fled the area.

 

William A. Weslosky and Tonia Connors were both transported from the scene by EMS to the Milford Memorial Hospital where they were treated for non life threatening injuries.

 

Delaware State Police are asking anyone who may have any information in reference to this incident to contact Troop 3 at 302-697-4454.
