DSP News Release: State Police Probe Claymont Assault

Victim(s):

  • 50 year old Claymont man

 

Suspect:

·        Black male, 18-20 yrs, 5’10”, 160 lbs, white t-shirt NFD

 

Resume:

Claymont, De-Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s help in solving an assault investigation.  The incident occurred Friday September 9, 2011 around 5:30 p.m. in a parking lot at the rear of the East Point Shopping Center. 

 

Prior to being assaulted the 50 year old Claymont man was walking to the McDonald’s Restaurant at Philadelphia Pike and Harvey road.  While walking through the parking lot of the East Point Shopping Center the victim was approached by a group of teenagers. 

 

One of the teenagers asked the victim for a cigarette and when he replied no, he was struck in the face.  The victim was hit by a suspect described as a black male, 18-20 years of age, 5’10”, weighing 160 lbs and wearing a white t-shirt. 

 

The victim fell to the ground after being struck and later treated and released for a fractured jaw at Christiana Hospital.
