DSP News Release: Detectives Searching for Newark Man after Bank Robbery

 

Location: WSFS Bank, 210 Fox Hunt Drive, Bear, DE

 

Date and Time of Occurrence: Wednesday, September 07, 2011 at 11:52 a.m.

 

Victim:

 

-50 year old female employee

 

Suspect:

 

-Thomas J. Lenoir, Jr., 32, Newark, DE

-6’02” tall, 180 lbs, blonde hair, blue eyes

-Multiple tattoos on neck, both arms, and right leg

-He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with writing on it, and a blue and red Phillies baseball cap.

 

Charge:

 

-Robbery 1st Degree (warrant on file)

Bear, DE- The Delaware State Police are searching for a Newark, DE man after he robbed a Bear area bank late this morning.

 

Robbery detectives have obtained a warrant charging Thomas J. Lenoir, Jr, 32, with one count of Robbery 1st degree. They advised that Lenoir entered the WSFS Bank branch located in the 200 block of Fox Hunt Drive, Bear, DE at approximately 11:52 a.m. this morning. He then approached a 50 year old bank teller and provided her with a demand note for cash, claiming that he was in possession of a bomb. The teller complied with Lenoir’s demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to him. Lenoir then fled the bank in an unknown direction. There were no injuries. A bomb was not displayed.

 

As detectives were interviewing witnesses to the robbery, they received information that Thomas J. Lenoir was the subject who had committed the robbery. Detectives were then able to positively identify Lenoir as the suspect and obtained a warrant for him.  They are currently searching for him at this time.

 

Detectives are asking anyone who may know the location of Thomas J. DSP News Release: Troopers on Scene of Bank Robbery

 

Location: WSFS Bank, Fox Hunt Drive (Fox Run Shopping Center), Bear, DE

 

Date of Occurrence:  Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at approximately 11:55 a.m.

Bear, DE- The Delaware State Police are currently at the scene of a robbery that occurred at the WSFS Bank located in the Fox Run Shopping Center in Bear, DE at approximately 11:55 a.m.

 

The suspect in the robbery has been described as a white male, 25-30 years of age. He was last seen wearing a Philadelphia Phillies shirt, blue baseball cap, and blue jeans.

 

The investigation into this incident is in its early stages. More complete details will be released as they become available.
