TROOPERS INVESTIGATE PHARMACY ROBBERY


DSP News Release:  Troopers Investigate Pharmacy Robbery 

 

Location:

·         Rite Aid, 25 Chestnut Hill Plaza, Newark, DE

 

Date of Occurrence:  

·         Sunday, September 4, 2011 at 4:00 p.m.

 

Victim:

·         35 year old male employee

 

Suspect: 

·         White male, 20-25 years of age, 5’10’ tall, 170 lbs, average build.  Last seen wearing black t-shirt with white graphics, black/gray hat, dark colored shorts, and dark sunglasses.  Suspect was armed with a knife.

Resume:  

Newark-Troopers are investigating the armed robbery of a Rite Aid Pharmacy that occurred late Sunday afternoon.

 

The incident occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m. this afternoon as a male suspect entered the Rite Aid store and proceeded to the pharmacy.  The suspect approached the pharmacy counter, and proceeded to jump the counter to gain access to the pharmacy area.  Once in the pharmacy area the suspect displayed a knife and confronted the male employee, demanding prescription medication.  The victim complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of prescription narcotics to the suspect.  The suspect then fled on foot with the prescription narcotics in an unknown direction.  There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
