Defendant, Charges, and Arraignment Information:

 

-Latasha L. Brown, 25, Wilmington, DE

 

-Theft

-Forgery 2nd Degree (4 counts)

 

-Arraigned at JP Court 2 and released on $5000.00 unsecured bail.

 

Resume:

Wilmington- A citizen’s tip has lead to the arrest of a 25 year old Wilmington woman for the theft and unlawful use of a Newark, DE woman’s credit card.

 

On Tuesday, August 30, 2011 detectives arrested Latasha L. Brown after they received a tip from a subject who recognized her picture in the media.  On March 17, 2011 Brown allegedly obtained the Wilmington Trust debit card belonging to a 20 year old Newark, DE female. She then proceeded to deposit several fraudulent checks into the victim’s bank account. Brown then made purchases using the victim's debit card and the proceeds from the fake checks over the next few days. The purchases, which were made at several area stores, totaled over $8000.00.

 

Latasha Brown was charged with the above list of crimes and then released on $5000.00 unsecured bail after being arraigned at JP Court 2.

DSP News Release: Detectives Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Theft Suspect

 

Location: Wilmington Trust Bank, 1100 N. Market Street, Wilmington, DE

 

Date of Occurrence:   Between Thursday, March 17, 2011 and Monday, March 21, 2011

 

Suspect:   Black male, 18-25 years of age

 

Victim:  20 year old Newark, DE female

Wilmington- The Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the below pictured suspect.

 

On March 17, 2011 the below listed suspect obtained the Wilmington Trust debit card belonging to a 20 year old Newark, DE female. The suspect then proceeded to deposit several fraudulent checks into the victim’s bank account. He then made purchases using the victim's debit card and the proceeds from the fake checks over the next few days. The purchases, which were made at several area stores, totaled over $8000.00.  

 

 

Detectives are asking anyone who may know the identification of the pictured suspect to contact Det. David May at Troop 2 at 302-834-2630 ext. 228.  Citizens may also provide a tip by texting keyword “DSP” plus your message to 274637 (CRIMES).  Tipsters may also provide information through lines maintained by Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333. Callers can also submit information via the internet at www.tipsubmit.com.
