TWO INJURED IN 3 VEHICLE CRASH

DSP News Release: Two Injured in 3 Vehicle Crash

Resume: Georgetown, De-Delaware State Police Thursday September 1, 2011 investigated a serious crash which sent two persons to the hospital.
The crash happened around 7:49 a.m. on Hardscrabble Road W/O Shortly Road, 4 miles W/O Georgetown Delaware. The crash occurred when a 2005 GMC Denali driven by Rebecca L. Donahue-31 of Selbyville clipped the rear of a 2000 Kia Spectra. Donahue was traveling westbound on Hardscrabble Road prior to the collision. The Kia driven by Carol H. Zuccheri-77 of Georgetown was stopped waiting to turn left prior to the crash.
The Kia after being struck by the GMC SUV was pushed into oncoming traffic. The Kia collided head-on with a 2003 Dodge Intrepid which was traveling eastbound on Hardscrabble Road. The Dodge Intrepid was driven by 21 year old Anissa Villella of Seaford Delaware.
Rebecca Donahue was not injured in the crash. Zuccheri was initially taken to Nanticoke Hospital, but has since been airlifted to Christiana Hospital after sustaining severe head and leg trauma and is listed in critical condition.
Anissa Villella sustained leg trauma and was treated and released from Nanticoke Memorial Hospital.
Delaware State Police detoured traffic for 3 hours while the crash was investigated. State Police investigators are continuing to investigate the crash and have yet to charge anyone in the investigation. As soon as charges are filed the release will be updated.
