TROOPERS INVESTIGATE CLAYMONT CUMBERLAND FARMS ROBBERY/ASSAULT


DSP News Release:  Troopers Investigate Claymont Cumberland Farms Robbery/Assault 

 

Location:

·         Cumberland Farms, 698 Naamans Road, Claymont, DE

 

Date of Occurrence:

·         Friday, October 28, 2011 at 4:45 a.m.

 

Victim:

·         52 year old female employee

 

Suspect:

·         2 black males with ski masks (no further description available).  At least one suspect armed with unknown type handgun.

·         No surveillance photo’s available at this time.

 

Resume:

Claymont-Troopers are investigating the robbery and assault of a 52 year old female employee, as she prepared to open a Claymont Cumberland Farms for business early this morning.

 

The incident occurred at approximately 4:45 a.m. this morning as the 52 year old female employee was preparing to unlock and enter the front door of the Cumberland Farms in Claymont.  The victim was approached from behind by two male suspects and was struck several times in the head with a blunt object, possibly a handgun, and forced to open the door.  Once inside the store, one suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money.  The suspects removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the business and fled on foot.  The victim suffered injuries to her head, but declined medical treatment at the scene.
