Resume

Felton, DE- The Delaware State Police Kent County Governors Task Force has arrested two men on several drug charges following a traffic stop last night in Felton.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:10 p.m. on Monday after members of the Kent County Governor’s Task Force (GTF) observed a 1991 Ford F150 pick up truck traveling on Irish Hill Road in the area of Canterbury Road in Felton, DE. The truck was stopped by the GTF after they observed that the light for the registration plate was not illuminated.

Upon contacting the occupants of the vehicle, the passenger, later identified as Kevin McDonald, 36, provided the task force members with a fictitious name. He was then removed from the truck at which time a plastic container fell out of the vehicle. An inspection of the container revealed that it contained a small amount of powder cocaine. A search of the truck was then conducted at which time a soda bottle containing white chunks of crack cocaine was located on the floorboard. The task force members learned that upon being stopped, McDonald had placed the chunks of crack cocaine in the soda bottle in an effort to destroy the evidence. Additional pieces of crack cocaine were also located throughout the truck. The total weight of the recovered cocaine was over 118 grams. The operator of the vehicle, later identified as Tyrone Henry, was also found to be in possession of a glass pipe used to smoke crack cocaine.

Kevin McDonald and Tyrone Henry were both arrested and charged with the above list of crimes. Henry was then arraigned at JP Court 7 and released on $775.00 unsecured bail. Kevin McDonald was also arraigned at JP Court 7. He was then committed to the Department of Corrections after failing to post $51,750.00 secured bail.
