MAGNOLIA MAN CHARGED IN ROBBERY/EXPOSURE INCIDENT

DSP News Release: Magnolia Man Charged in Robbery/Exposure Incident

-52 year old Magnolia, DE woman
Defendant:
-Lamond L. Simmons, 23, Magnolia, DE
Charges and Arraignment Information:
-Robbery 1st Degree -Indecent Exposure 2nd Degree
Arraigned at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas and then committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center for lack of $3100.00 bail.
Resume: Magnolia, DE- Delaware State Police detectives have arrested a 23 year old Magnolia, DE man after he exposed himself to and then robbed a Magnolia woman early in September.
Detectives advised that the incident occurred at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2011 as the 52 year old victim was standing in the area of Millchop Lane and Walnut Shade Road in the Meadowbrook Acres Mobile Home Park, Magnolia, DE. The victim was then approached by a male subject on a bicycle who proceeded to expose himself to her. The suspect then attempted to grab the victim’s purse, and when she resisted, he punched her in the face. The suspect was then able to obtain the victim’s purse before fleeing on the bike in a westbound direction. The victim suffered a minor injury to her mouth, however, she refused treatment. On Sunday, October 9, 2011, a Delaware State Trooper on routine patrol observed a subject matching the description of the robbery suspect riding a bike in the area of Meadowbrook Acres. Lamond L. Simmons was taken into custody and after being positively identified as the suspect, was arrested for the above list of crimes. He was arraigned at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas and then committed to the Department of Corrections for lack $3100.00 bail.
