DSP News Release: Troopers Probe Dover Shooting

Location: Unit block of Webbs Lane, Autumn Run Apartments, Dover, DE

Date of Occurrence:  Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 9:20 p.m.

Victim:  25 year old Dover, DE man

Suspects:    

Suspect #1: Black male, 20-30 years of age, 5’08”-5’11” tall, 150 – 160 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and a black hooded sweatshirt. He was also armed with a handgun.

Suspect #2: Black male, 20-30 years of age, 5’07”-5’11” tall, 150-160 lbs. He was last seen wearing a red Cincinnati Reds baseball cap.

Dover, DE- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the shooting of a Dover man that occurred last night.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:20 p.m. yesterday evening as a 25 year old man was sitting on a sidewalk in the Autumn Run Apartments located on Webbs Lane in Dover. The victim, who resides in the apartment complex, was then approached by two male subjects, one of them armed with a handgun. The subjects told the victim to not move, however, the victim began to run. He was then shot by the armed suspect. The victim was able to continue running and entered a building in the apartment complex. The suspects both fled in an unknown direction.

The victim was removed from the scene and transported by EMS to the Kent General Hospital where he was treated for a non life threatening injury.
