DSP News Release: Troopers Investigate Serious Motorcycle Crash

Resume: Wilmington-Delaware State Police are investigating a serious crash involving a motorcycle that occurred last night in Wilmington.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. last evening as Joshua J. Kinser-35 of New Castle, DE was operating a 2006 Yamaha X-17 motorcycle traveling on the elevated section of the I95 Northbound on-ramp from Martin Luther King Boulevard. Kinser lost control of the motorcycle and struck a concrete barrier wall. Kinser was ejected from the motorcycle and fell approximately 40 feet to the street below, landing in the area of West Third Street and Adams Street in the City of Wilmington.
Kinser sustained serious injuries and was transported by EMS to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center and admitted in serious condition.
Preliminary investigation reveals that alcohol is considered a factor in this crash. Kinser was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The Delaware State Police continue to investigate this incident.
