DSP News Release: Troopers Investigate Hares Corner Robbery/Assault 

Location:

·         McDonalds Restaurant (parking lot), 101 South Dupont Highway, (Hares Corner), New Castle, DE

Date of Occurrence:

·         Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 6:30 p.m.

Victim:

·         25 year old New Castle man

Suspects:

·         3 black males, 20-30 years of age, 5’08”-5’10” tall, 165-180 lbs, thin build. Suspects were last seen wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and dark pants. At least 2 of the suspects were armed with unknown type handguns.

New Castle-Troopers are investigating the robbery and assault of a 25 year old man that occurred last night in the parking lot of a Hares Corner McDonalds Restaurant.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. as the 25 year old victim had just parked in the parking lot and exited his car to go inside the McDonalds.  The victim was then approached by the three suspects, of which two were armed with handguns.  The suspects forced the victim to the ground and struck him several times in the head with the handguns, and continued to kick and punch him.  The suspects rifled through his pockets removing his wallet which contained money and other personal property. The suspects fled on foot through the parking lot in an unknown direction.  The victim received minor injuries from the assault.
