DSP News Release: Troopers Investigate Attempted Wawa Robbery
Location: · Wawa, 1605 Pulaski Highway (Salem Center), Bear, DE
Date of Occurrence: · Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 9:40 p.m.
Victim: · 25 year old male employee
Suspect: · Black male, 18-25 years of age, 5’08”-5’10”, 160-170 lbs, average build. Last seen wearing dark hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants, with dark cloth covering his face. · No surveillance photo’s available at this time
Resume: Bear-Troopers are investigating the attempted robbery of the Salem Center Wawa, which occurred last night in Bear.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m. as a male suspect entered the business and approached the 25 year old male clerk who was located behind the sales counter. The suspect placed his hand under his sweatshirt, implied that he had a weapon and demanded money. The 25 year old sales clerk confronted the suspect and refused his demands. The suspect fled the store on foot empty handed through the parking lot.
