DSP News Release: Troopers Investigate Salem Village Square Carjacking

Resume: Newark-Troopers are investigating the carjacking of a 28 year old female that occurred at the Wawa, Salem Village Square, early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning, as the 28 year old female exited the Wawa store and walked to her car that was parked in the parking lot at the front of the store. As the victim reached her car, she was approached from behind by the two male suspects, one of which implied that he had a gun. The suspects demanded that she hand over her purse and car keys. The victim attempted to resist the suspects’ demands. The suspects grabbed the victim and forcibly took the car keys from her hand. The victim was able to get away from the suspects and fled towards the front of the store with her purse. Both suspects entered the victim’s car and fled the parking lot. The vehicle is described as a 1996 Toyota Avalon, red in color, PA registration #HNR7899. The victim was not injured as a result of this incident. The car has not been located at this time. Troopers request that if the public observes the vehicle, to contact 911 immediately.
