DSP News Release: Troopers Investigate Parking Lot Stabbing

·         Monday, November 28, 2011 at 1:00 a.m.

Victims:

·         22 year old Wilmington man

·         27 year old New York man

Suspect: 

·         Black male, 5’06”-5’07” tall, 150 lbs. Last seen wearing white shirt and blue pants. (No further description)

Resume:

Newark-Delaware State Police Detectives are investigating an early morning assault that occurred in the parking lot of the Chestnut Sports Lounge, Newark that has left two male victims with stab wounds to the upper body.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. this morning as the 22 year old and 27 year old victims were leaving the Chestnut Sports Lounge. An altercation ensued in the vestibule of the lounge between bar patrons, and continued into the parking lot. A male suspect produced an unknown type knife and stabbed the victims multiple times in the upper body.  Both victims sustained non life threatening stab wounds to the torso and upper extremities and were transported to the Wilmington Hospital by friends for treatment. The hospital disposition and status were unknown at the time of this release.
