DSP News Release: M&T Bank Robbery Suspect Identified

Date of Occurrence:  Monday, November 21, 2011 at 4:30 p.m.

Suspect:  Ryan W. Anderson, 22, Pennsville, NJ

Charge: Robbery 2^nd Degree

Wilmington, DE- Delaware State Police Robbery Unit detectives have obtained a warrant on a Pennsville, NJ man charging him in connection with the robbery of the M&T Bank located on Limestone Road earlier this week.

On November 22, detectives from the Delaware State Police were notified by officers from the Pennsville Police Department in New Jersey who recognized Ryan W. Anderson, 22, as the suspect in the November 21^st bank robbery after they had viewed surveillance photos that had been distributed by state police detectives. On November 23 detectives from the Delaware State Police, Pennsville Police Department, and the Carney’s Point New Jersey Police Department began searching local New Jersey motels for Anderson and located him at the American Best Value Inn in Pennsville, NJ. After a brief foot chase, Ryan Anderson was taken into custody. He is currently being held on a fugitive warrant at the Salem County Detention Center in New Jersey pending his extradition to Delaware.

DSP News Release: Troopers Investigate M&T Bank Robbery 

Location:

·         M&T Bank, 2371 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE

Date of Occurrence:  

·         Monday, November 21, 2011 at 4:30 p.m.

·         59 year old female employee

Suspect:

·         White male, 25-30 years of age, 5’08”-5’10” tall, 160-180 lbs, average build, red hair. Last seen wearing an olive colored coat, maroon hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans.

Wilmington-Delaware State Police Robbery Detectives are investigating the robbery of the M&T Bank located on Limestone Road which occurred late this afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. as a male suspect entered the M&T Bank located on Limestone Road.  The suspect approached the bank teller and presented a demand note for money. The teller complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
