DSP News Release: Troopers Investigate WSFS Bank Robbery 

Location:

·         WSFS Bank, 2005 Concord Pike (Fairfax Shopping Center), Wilmington, DE

Date of Occurrence:

·         Monday, November 21, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.

Victim:

·         29 year old male employee

Suspect:

·         Black male, unknown age, 5’06”-5’08” tall, 150-160 lbs, average build. Last seen wearing dark clothing and dark cap.

Wilmington-Delaware State Police Robbery Detectives are investigating the robbery of the WSFS Bank located in the Fairfax Shopping Center which occurred early this afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:00 p.m. as a male suspect entered the WSFS Bank located on Concord Pike. The suspect approached the bank teller and presented a demand note for money.  The teller complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect. The suspect fled on foot through the parking lot. 

Surveillance video indicated that the suspect may have crossed paths with several shopping center customers while traveling on foot through the parking lot (parking lot surveillance photo attached).  Detectives are asking any customers that were in the parking lot and observed the suspect to contact Troop 2 Robbery Detectives.
