DSP News Release: Troopers Investigate Liquor Store Robbery 

Location:

·         Ted’s Liquors, 1202 Newport Gap Pike (Belvedere), Wilmington, DE

Date of Occurrence:

·         Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 9:25 p.m.

Victim:

·         42 year old female clerk

Suspect:

·         White male, 50-55 years of age. Last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt (No further description available).

·         No surveillance photos available at this time.

Resume:

Belvedere-Troopers are investigating the robbery of Ted’s Liquors, that occurred last night on Newport Gap Pike, Belvedere.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:25 p.m. as a male suspect entered the business and approached the 42 year old clerk, located behind the sales counter.  The suspect placed his hand under his sweatshirt, implied that he had a weapon and demanded money. The clerk complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect fled the business on foot, northbound on Newport Gap Pike. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
