TROOPERS INVESTIGATE GROCERY STORE ROBBERY


DSP News Release: Troopers Investigate Grocery Store Robbery  

 

Location:

·         Everest Indian Grocery, 208 Churchmans Road, New Castle, DE

 

Date of Occurrence:

·         Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 9:00 p.m.

 

Victim:

·         36 year old male employee

 

Suspect:

·         White male, unknown age, 6’01”-6’02” tall, 190-200 lbs, average build. Last seen wearing dark blue shirt, tan pants, and mask covering his face. Suspect was armed with a large “machete” type knife.

Resume:

New Castle-Troopers are investigating the robbery of the Everest Indian Grocery store that occurred last night on Churchmans Road, New Castle.

 

The incident occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m. as a male suspect entered the business and approached the 36 year old clerk, located at the sales counter.  The suspect produced a machete and waved it at the clerk demanding money.  The clerk complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then fled the business on foot through the parking lot.  There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
