PEGGY'S RESTAURANT BURGLAR APPREHENDED


DSP News Release

 

Location:  Peggy’s Restaurant, 9634 Hickory Lane, Greenwood, DE

 

Date of Occurrence:   Wednesday November 16, 2011 at approximately 12:20 a.m.

 

Victim: 

  • Peggy’s Restaurant

 

Suspect:

  • Mark R. Koester, 53 of Wilmington, DE

 

Charges:

  • Burglary 3rd
  • Criminal Mischief Under $1,000.00
  • Theft Under $1,500.00

 

Resume:  

Greenwood, DE- Delaware State Police make an arrest of a subject that was in the process of breaking into Peggy’s Restaurant.

 

Troopers were summoned to Peggy’s Restaurant located at 9634 Hickory Lane in Greenwood around 12:20 a.m. after a 9-1-1 call was received informing the dispatchers of a suspicious person parking in the rear of the business.  Witnesses observed a white male walking up to the side of the building and then break a window before crawling in.  Once inside, the subject removed an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

 

Upon exiting the business through the front door, Mark R. Koester was met by a responding Trooper who took him into custody.  The money was soon located near the broken window sill and was returned to the business owner.

 

Koester was transported back to Troop 5 where he was processed for the charges.  After arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 3, he was released on $1,750.00 unsecured bail.
