DSP News Release: Troopers Search for Robbery Suspects

Location: Glendale Plaza Shopping Center, 1132 Pulaski Highway, Bear, DE

Date of Occurrence:  Monday, November 14, 2011 at 6:25 p.m.

Victim:

-23 year old Newark, DE man

Suspects:  

-Suspect #1: Black male, 20-25 years of age, 6’02” tall, 180-200 lbs, with a muscular build. He was last seen wearing a black or grey hooded sweatshirt, and black pants. He also had  large afro styled hair and a full beard.

-Suspect #2: Black male, 20-25 years of age, 5’09” tall, 170-180 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants, and a black knit cap.

Bear, DE- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the strong armed robbery of a Newark man that occurred yesterday evening in Bear.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:25 p.m. as the victim was walking through the parking lot of the Glendale Plaza Shopping Center located in the 1100 block of Pulaski Highway in Bear. The victim was approached from behind by two male suspects who grabbed him and went through his pockets, removing his cellular phone and cash. The suspects then threw the victim to the ground before fleeing the area in an unknown direction. The victim was slightly injured, however, he refused medical treatment.

The Delaware State Police are asking anyone who may have any information in reference to this incident to contact the robbery unit at Troop 2 at 302-834-2630 ext. 6.
