DSP News Release: Troopers Probe Motel Parking Lot Robbery
Location: Super Lodge Motel, 1213 West Avenue, New Castle, DE
Date of Occurrence: Monday, November 14, 2011 at 9:00 p.m.
Victim:
-72 year old New Castle, DE man
Suspect:
-White male, 20-25 years of age, 6’00” tall, and 160 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
Resume: New Castle, DE- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the robbery of a New Castle man that occurred in an area motel parking lot last night.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m. on Monday as a 72 year old employee of the Super Lodge Motel, located in the 1200 block of West Avenue, New Castle, was walking through the parking lot of the motel. The victim was then approached by a male suspect who demanded money from him. When the victim refused, the suspect grabbed the victim and forced him to the ground. The suspect then removed the victim’s wallet from his pants pocket and fled on foot in an unknown direction. The victim was not injured.
The Delaware State Police are asking anyone who may have any information in reference to this incident to contact the robbery unit at Troop 2 at 302-834-2630 ext. 6.
