DSP News Release: Arrest Made in Fatal Stabbing
Defendant, Charges, and Arraignment Information:
-Aaron L. Johnson, 17, Dover, DE
Charges:
-Murder 1st Degree -Assault 2nd Degree -Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony -Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited
Arraigned at JP Court 7 and committed to the Stevenson House in Milford, DE without bail.
Resume: Camden, DE- Delaware State Police Homicide Detectives have arrested a 17 year old Dover youth in connection with an early morning stabbing death and assault that occurred in Camden.
Aaron L. Johnson, 17, of Dover, DE was arrested and charged with the above list of charges at approximately 3:00 p.m. this afternoon after turning himself in to detectives. Johnson was arraigned at JP Court 7 and committed to the Stevenson House in Milford without bail.
Detectives were able to identify Aaron Johnson as a suspect in the murder of Tevin Perry and the assault of a 20 year old Dover man after conducting multiple interviews of witnesses. It is believed that this incident occurred as the result of an altercation between two groups of individuals who had attended a party earlier in the morning in Wyoming, DE. Detectives learned that the victim and three other individuals, who had attended the party, followed a second group of individuals, who had also attended the party, and confronted them when they reached the intersection of US Rt. 13 and DE Rt. 10 in Camden. It was further learned that victim, Tevin Perry, then exited his vehicle and confronted the subjects in the second vehicle. It was at this point that a physical altercation occurred between the two groups. During the altercation, Johnson produced a folding knife and stabbed both Perry and the 20 year old Dover man before fleeing.
This incident remains under investigation; however, no further charges are expected.

DSP News Release: Detectives Search for Suspects in Stabbing Death
Location: US Rt. 13 and DE Rt. 10, Camden, DE
Date of Occurrence: Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 1:30 a.m.
Victims:
-Tevin R. Perry, 20, Felton, DE (deceased)
-20 year old Dover, DE man (injured)
Suspects:
-Unknown suspects
Resume: Camden, DE- The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is currently investigating the stabbing death of a Felton man that occurred early this morning.
The investigation into this incident began at approximately 1:30 a.m. this morning, November 12, after officers from the Camden Police Department were told to respond to the intersection of US Rt. 13 and DE Rt. 10 in Camden for the report of a fight. Upon their arrival, it was learned that two victims from the altercation had left the scene and had responded to the Kent General Hospital where one of the victims, Tevin R. Perry, died from apparent knife wounds he had sustained in the fight. It was also learned that a 20 year old man from Dover had also suffered knife wounds during the altercation. He was treated and released, however. The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit was then asked to assume the investigation.
Detectives have learned that the two victims had been in attendance at a party located on Filbert Street in Wyoming, DE earlier in the morning. The victims then left the party in a car with two other individuals, and when they reached the intersection of US Rt. 13 and DE Rt. 10, they were confronted by a group of individuals in a second vehicle. A physical altercation then occurred with both victims being stabbed by an unknown suspect. The suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victims then responded to the Kent General Hospital where Tevin Perry was then pronounced dead a short time later. His body was turned over to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy will be performed to determine the manner and cause of death.
The investigation into this incident is continuing.
