TWO CHARGED IN SUSSEX BURGLARIES

Resume: Rehoboth-The Delaware State Police Troop 4 Property Unit Detectives have charged a Milton man and Lewes man in connection with 2 residential burglaries where firearms were stolen in mid October.
Delaware State Police Detectives have charged Johnny R. Honaker-43 of Milton and Richard A. Aiken-47 of Lewes for a total of 34 charges related to Burglary Second Degree, Theft, Theft of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm/Ammunition by a Person Prohibited, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Conspiracy Second Degree, Criminal Mischief, and Resisting Arrest. Honaker was committed to SCI on $40,700 Cash Bond and Aiken was committed to SCI on $47,000 Secured Bond.
The arrest of Honaker and Aiken was the result of an investigation into residential burglaries that occurred in mid October in Harbeson and Georgetown. The pair would forcibly enter the residences through doors and windows. Once inside they removed jewelry, flat screen televisions, various electronics, tools, and various firearms including a shotgun and rifle.
Through further investigation and tips from the public, Detectives were able to connect the pair to the burglaries. Detectives were able to locate Honaker on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 where he was taken into custody without incident.
On Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at approximately 1:00 p.m., Detectives received information that Aiken was staying at a residence located in the Ark Condominiums, 400 block of Rehoboth Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE. State Police Detectives assisted by the Rehoboth Beach Police Department responded to the residence in an attempt to make contact with Aiken but the occupants would not acknowledge the Troopers or answer the door. Troopers had indication that there were individuals inside the residence and observed movement from inside through exterior windows. With information that Aiken was inside, a search warrant was obtained for the residence. At approximately 4:30 p.m., the occupants opened the door and surrendered. Aiken, along with Carolyn Faust-41 and Raymond Sawyer-46 were taken into custody. Faust and Sawyer were charged with the above crimes and in connection with hindering the apprehension of Aiken. All were arraigned with the listed bond information.
Some of the property has been found, but the firearms have not been located.
Detectives continue their investigation into these burglaries.
