DSP News Release: Troop 2 Robbery Detectives Request Public Assistance

Victim:

·         29 year old male employee

Suspect/Suspect Vehicle:

·         White male, unknown age, 5’09” tall, 170-180 lbs. Last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jeans, and black mask covering face.

·         1980’s model Chevrolet Monte Carlo, described as maroon in color and freshly painted, dark tinted windows, and black rims.

Resume:

Wilmington-Delaware State Police Robbery Detectives are continuing their investigation and are requesting public assistance in identifying a suspect and suspect vehicle wanted in connection with an attempted robbery/assault that occurred on Maryland Avenue.

The incident occurred on Friday, October 14, 2011 at approximately 10:10 a.m. as the 29 year old male employee of the Positive Performance Auto Repair was performing maintenance on a vehicle located inside the maintenance bay of the business.  A male suspect entered through the open bay and approached the victim from behind and struck him on the side of the head with an unknown blunt object. The victim fell to the ground and the suspect demanded money.  The victim got up and struggled with the suspect. The suspect fled empty handed and was last seen getting into the front passenger seat of the suspect vehicle described as a 1980’s model Chevrolet Monte Carlo, maroon in color and freshly painted, dark tinted windows, and black rims.

The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling Maryland Avenue eastbound towards the City of Wilmington.  The victim suffered facial injuries but declined medical treatment.
