Resume

Talleyville- Delaware State Police Robbery Unit detectives have arrested two men in connection with the armed robbery of a Wilmington area bank this morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:22 a.m. this morning (5/10) as a male suspect entered the Wells Fargo Bank located in the 2000 block of Concord Pike in Wilmington. The suspect then vaulted the counter and confronted a 25 year old female teller. He demanded cash from the victim and proceeded to remove an undisclosed amount of cash from her teller drawer. The suspect then fled the bank and was observed by an off-duty detective from the Wilmington Police Department entering the passenger side of a gold Lexus which was being operated by a second male suspect. The vehicle then fled the parking lot.

The Wilmington Police detective then contacted the 911 call center and provided a description of the suspect vehicle as well as the vehicle registration. A short time later, a Delaware State Police Detective located the suspect vehicle parked in the 100 block of W. 26th Street in Wilmington. Detectives were then able to take Tyrone S. Williams and Laron Carter into custody after they exited a home and entered the vehicle. A pat down search of Williams revealed a handgun in the waistband of his pants. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the Lexus as well as for a residence in the 100 block of W. 26th Street which resulted in the recovery of the proceeds taken in the robbery.

Tyrone Williams and Laron Carter were arrested and charged with the above list of crimes. They were then arraigned at JP Court 2 and committed to the Department of Correction for lack of bail.

The victim was not injured.
