TROOPERS PROBE ROBBERY OF GAS STATION

DSP News Release: Troopers Probe Robbery of Gas Station
Location: Valero, 4235 DuPont Parkway, Townsend, DE
Date of Occurrence: Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 12:05 a.m.
Suspect:
-Black male, 6’03”-6’04” tall, 150-160 lbs with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark blue jeans. He was also armed with a short rifle.
Victim: 25 year old male employee
Resume: Townsend- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the early morning robbery of a Townsend area gas station.
The incident occurred as a male suspect entered the Valero Gas Station located in the 4000 block of DuPont Parkway, Townsend, DE. The suspect displayed what appeared to be a short rifle type gun and confronted the male clerk. He then demanded money from the store register as well as cigarettes. The clerk complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes to the suspect. The suspect then fled from the store on foot and was last seen heading northbound on DE Rt. 71. The clerk was not injured.
Detectives are asking anyone who may have any information in reference to this incident to contact the robbery unit at Troop 2 at 302-834-2630 ext. 6.
