MILLSBORO MAN ARRESTED AFTER BURGLARIZING HOME

DSP News Release: Millsboro Man Arrested after Burglarizing Home
Location: 30000 block of Conaway Road, Georgetown, DE
Date of Occurrence: Friday, May 27, 2011 at 5:00 p.m.
Defendant: David A. Honeycutt, 33, Millsboro, DE
Charges:
-Burglary 2nd Degree -Possession of Burglary Tools -Theft -Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Resume: Georgetown- Delaware State Police have arrested a 33 year old Millsboro, DE man after he burglarized a home in Georgetown, DE yesterday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Friday as a state trooper on routine patrol was driving in the 30000 block of Conaway Road in Georgetown. The trooper was flagged down by a pair of concerned citizens who advised him that there was a suspicious vehicle, described as a red Ford, parked on a dirt road in the area. As the trooper approached the vehicle, it fled onto Shortly Road, at which time the trooper conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle. Upon making contact wit the occupants of the vehicle, the trooper observed a male suspect, later identified as David A. Honeycutt, 33, attempting to hide jewelry and money under a seat in the car. Troopers took Honeycutt into custody. A subsequent check of the nearby residences revealed that Honeycutt had entered an unoccupied home through an unsecured rear window. Once inside, he proceeded to remove money and jewelry from inside of the house.
David A. Honeycutt was arrested and charged with the above list of crimes. He was arraigned at JP Court 3 and then committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution for lack of $8000.00 secured bail. The stolen items were returned to the homeowner.
