DSP News Release: Detectives Seek the Public’s Help
Location: 7-11, 100 Four Seasons Parkway, Newark, DE
Dates of Occurrence: Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 2:05 a.m.
Suspect: Black male, 5’10”-6’00” tall, with an average build. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and had a white cloth covering the top of his head and face as well as white cloth covering his arms and hands. He was also wearing dark colored pants and white sneakers.
Victim: 46 year old male employee
Resume: Newark- Delaware State Police robbery detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in the robbery of the 7-11 convenience store located in Newark this past Saturday.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:05 a.m. on May 21st as a male suspect entered the 7-11 located at 100 Four Seasons Parkway. The suspect displayed a dark colored handgun and demanded money and cigarettes from the 46 year old clerk. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes, the suspect fled from the business and was last seen running in a westbound direction. The victim was not injured.
On Sunday, May 22, 2011 at approximately 4:00 a.m., the same suspect attempted to rob the same store. However, the suspect, who was armed with a handgun, could not enter the store due to the doors being locked. He then fled on foot in an eastbound direction towards DE Rt. 896.
Detectives are asking anyone who may know the identity of this suspect to contact the Delaware State Police robbery unit at Troop 2 at 302-834-2630 ext. 6.
