 Resume:

 Ocean View-Delaware State Police Wednesday afternoon investigated a theft of jewelry from an elderly woman’s residence.  The theft occurred at a residence in the 400 block of Jackie Drive Ocean View Delaware between May 16th and May 18th 2011. 

 

State Police investigators learned that Joshua W. Gott and Krystal A. Black were hired by the 75 year old victim to clean the windows to her residence.  Gott and Black while performing this job are alleged to have remove thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from the victim’s residence. 

 

Wednesday evening State Troopers drove to Gott and Black’s residence in Ocean View in an attempt to conduct a follow up investigation.  As Troopers arrived at the Ocean View residence, they observed Gott and Black walking on David Drive.  Gott immediately fled upon seeing State Police Officers; however Black was taken into custody. 

 

Several State Troopers and the State Police helicopter canvassed the area but were unable to locate Gott.  Black was taken back to Troop 4 Georgetown Delaware and charged with Burglary, Theft, Conspiracy and other related crimes.

 

Delaware State Police detectives additionally linked Gott and Black to a burglary investigation reported to police on April 16, 2011.  This burglary occurred in the 22000 block of Adkins Court Millsboro Delaware.  During this burglary Gott and Black entered the victim’s residence and stole a 12 gauge Mossberg shotgun, boxes of ammunition and a satellite radio system before fleeing the scene.    

 

Arrest warrants have been obtained for Joshua W. Gott consisting of Burglary, Theft, Conspiracy, resisting arrest and Theft of a Firearm.  Gott is also being sought by the Selbyville Police Department for similar type crimes.

 

Krystal Black is currently being held at the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institute on $4,000 secured bond.
