Through the spirit of cooperation and teamwork exhibited between the Delaware State Police, the University of Delaware Police Department, as well as the Pennsylvania State Police, suspect David W. Jones was arrested yesterday, Tuesday, May 17, at the Harrah’s Chester Casino in Pennsylvania.

The arrest occurred as investigators from the Delaware State Police and the University of Delaware Police Department received information that Jones frequented the casino. Investigators then contacted the Pennsylvania State Police who were able to locate Jones on the casino floor and take him into custody without incident.  Jones is currently being held at the Delaware County Prison on a fugitive warrant from Delaware. He will be formally charged by the Delaware State Police and the University of Delaware Police Department with the above list of crimes after his extradition from Pennsylvania.

State Police robbery detectives had obtained warrants on David Jones in connection with the robbery of three females that occurred at a residence located in the 2000 block of Porter Road on Saturday, 14, 2011. They were also able to link Jones to two similar robberies of females who advertised as escorts on the internet that occurred at the Days Inn located in the 900 block of Churchman’s Road, Newark on April 26, 2011 as well as the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel located in the 400 block of Pencader Way in Newark, that occurred on April 29, 2011 which was investigated by the University of Delaware Police Department. The 2008 Hyundai Elantra which was stolen during the Porter Road robbery was recovered in the parking lot of the casino.
