DSP News Release: Troopers Probe Robbery of Ice Cream Store
Location: La Guerrense Ice Cream, 2307 W. Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE
Dates of Occurrence: Monday, May 16, 2011 at 9:45 p.m.
Suspect: White male, 20-25 years of age, 5’10”-5’11” tall, 170 lbs, with green eyes and blonde air. He was last seen wearing a black ski mask, dark jeans, and a dark hooded sweatshirt. He was also armed with a dark colored handgun.
Victims:
-24 year old female employee -14 year old female employee
Resume: Wilmington- Delaware State Police robbery detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a Wilmington area ice cream store that occurred last night.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m. last night as a male suspect entered the La Guerrense Ice Cream Store located in the 2300 block of W. Newport Pike. The suspect displayed a black handgun and confronted two female employees of the store. He then demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash from the store registers and then fled the business. The suspect was last seen running on Cypress Drive. The employees were not injured.
Detectives are asking anyone who may have any information in reference to this incident to contact robbery detectives at Troop 2 at 302-834-2630 ext. 6.
