DSP News Release: Troopers Investigate Single Vehicle Fatal Accident
Location: DE Rt. 4 (Maryland Avenue) westbound west of Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE
Date of Occurrence: Monday, May 16, 2011 at 2:25 p.m.

Resume: Wilmington- The Delaware State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating a one vehicle fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred yesterday (May 16) afternoon south of Wilmington.
The crash occurred as Larry Wyatt, 70, was operating a Pontiac G6 and was traveling westbound on DE Rt. 4 in the area of Germay Drive. For an unknown reason, Wyatt’s vehicle drifted into the eastbound lanes of Rt. 4 and then drove off of the edge of the roadway where it struck a utility pole and came to rest.
Larry Wyatt was transported from the scene by EMS to the Christiana Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. His body was turned over to the medical examiners office where an autopsy was performed that determined the exact cause of death.
This crash is still under investigation by the crash reconstruction unit.
