DETECTIVES PROBE ATTEMPTED BANK ROBBERY


DSP News Release: Detectives Probe Attempted Bank Robbery

 

Location: WSFS Bank, 1600 W. Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE

 

Date of Occurrence:   Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 2:30 p.m.

 

Suspect: Black male, 30-35 years of age, 5’08”-5’10” tall, with a medium build, medium dark complexion, and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap and a black t-shirt over top of a black long sleeve shirt, and blue jeans.

 

Victim:

 

-26 year old female bank employee

 

Resume:  

Stanton- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the attempted robbery of the WSFS Bank branch in Stanton that happened yesterday afternoon. 

 

The incident occurred as a male suspect entered the bank branch located in the 1600 block of W. Newport Pike at approximately 2:30 p.m. The suspect approached a female teller and presented her with a demand note for cash. The note implied that the suspect was armed, however; a weapon was not displayed. As the teller was in the process of placing money in a bag, the suspect fled in an unknown direction without taking the cash. There were no injuries.
