TWO INJURED, MOTORCYCLIST CITED FOR UNSAFE SPEED


DSP News Release:  Two Injured, Motorcyclist Cited for Unsafe Speed

Resume:

Newark-Delaware State Police around 5:00 p.m. today investigated its 3rd motorcycle crash involving serious injuries.  Today’s crash occurred on Route 72 N/O Reybold Road Newark. 

 

Charles Kieffer of Tamaqua Pennsylvania was driving his 2008 Harley Davidson Motorcycle southbound on Route 72 rounding a curve in the roadway.  Kieffer due to an unsafe speed failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and traveled off the right edge of the road onto a grass shoulder. 

 

Kieffer and his passenger Donna Hanna, also of Tamaqua Pennsylvania were then thrown from the motorcycle.  Charles Kieffer and Donna Hanna were both taken to Christiana Hospital and admitted.  Kieffer and Hanna are in stable condition and being treated for a leg fracture, wrist dislocation and abrasions. 

 

Kieffer and Hanna were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash.  State Police cited Kieffer for Driving at an Unsafe Speed.
